About Us

We are 16 years old. We've been mushing for 3 years+ now. We were raised with and by dogs. We've loved animals all our lives.

We volunteer at our local animal shelter when we can (summer mostly).

Ashley:

What kind of mushing do you do?

Since we have a small team we are mainly into sprint. I would like to start going for longer runs and camping with the team.

What do you look for in dogs?

Good temperament. I usually don’t look for anything, I just look at one and feel if I like it or not. The dogs pick me more than I pick them. We run a small kennel and keep pettish dogs with other family members if they don’t want to run. I accommodate my dogs.

What are your goals for the 2005 racing season?

To run in the Junior Yukon Quest. I just want to do well. It’s one thing to want to do well and then beat others....of course there’s always a piece of me saying “Eat my snow!”

Jackie is dedicated to her loving breed Siberian Huskies and would like to run an all Sibe team in the Iditarod one year and finish in the top 10.

We'll have more on Jackie once she's down here to answer questions.

How did you two get started?

We've always been around dogs so that started when we were born.

In 1994 Balto and Iron Will came around to us I'd say we were both hooked.

Jim O. (we'll get his last name on here soon enough) got us started in equipment. He's loaned us the Rig and we've bought a sled from him.Jim also invited us up to the UP of MI where we met other mushers like Denise Gerrmain who gave us Sister our lead dog.

And here we are today.

Special Thanks

We'd like to thank Mom and Dad. For letting us get the dogs we have...and hopefully more this summer. LOANED ones Dad. We wont keep them forever. And for being so forgiving when we bring home unwanted animals so they can be unwanted with us.

Ashley would like to give a thanks to Dave Steele, thanks Dave for writing back an eight year old wondering if I could race with my white GSD, and the magazines you sent me.

To Jim and Denise, you all have given us the key to the locked door we kept pounding on. Now we've opened it.

To Jeff the KY Musher that is no longer alone. You've gave us great tips and given us hope.
